The World’s Top Football Event, namely FIFA World Cup 2022, which kicked off on Sunday, has lured more than 1 million soccer fans to Qatar from across the globe, rooting for their favorite stars and teams, sharing their fervor for the world's most popular sport.
At this football event, Chinese elements shined: from stadium construction to power guarantee, from in-venue service facilities to off-site mascots, China Made and China Intelligent Manufacturing provided strong support, including the on-board automatic charging system from HICI Digital Power Technology Company.
It is understood that in order to meet the transportation needs of the World Cup, Qatar imported 2,000 buses from China, including 888 pure electric buses. Among the on-board charging equipment of these pure electric buses, 800 sets are provided by HICI Digital Power Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as HICI).
Mr. Zhang Jun, sales director of HICI, introduced that the company was established in 2015 and is a national high-tech enterprise, specialized in R&D and producing new energy vehicle power systems and new energy vehicle charging equipment. HICI made products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions globally. In the year 2022, HICI has also contributed to the government demonstration project of Romania. with a total value of about 10 million Euro.
It is reported that this is the first large-scale as well as first time that E-buses have been used as the main force to serve major international sports events. The onboard auto-charging system developed by HICI has contributed their efforts to ensure the success of the extravaganza.
The onboard Auto-charging system exported this time have broken the monopoly of standard products in this field by foreign competitors. Mr. Zhang Jun said: 'In addition to the price advantage, we also have an advantage in charging speed. A bus with 420 kWh is expected to take 45 minutes to be fully charged, which is equivalent to the half-time football game.”
Also the company has sent technicians to do after-sales service in Qatar since March this year to ensure the normal and smooth operation of the buses during the event. After the World Cup, these pure electric buses will continue to be on duty and become an important part of Qatar's public transport system.
